• A wide range of physical skills is being taught and achieved and the
participants are able to respond to a wide range of instructions which
are beyond normal expectations.
• The participants are able to have ownership of what they are doing
as they are allowed and encouraged to have creative input, both
verbally and physically.
• Children have clearly developed social and physical skills,
including an increase in fitness levels for some of the participants,
as well as creative skills particularly in their abilities to work as a
team.
• Dance is able to create a future for children and young people who may feel that they have fewer options in life.
• Some of the children who are probably 'less academic' have shown an aptitude for dance and now have the opportunity to shine.
• The teacher's perceptions of what the pupils are capable of has been challenged by the artist's high expectations.
• All participating schools are planning to develop dance further within their school and this project has been integral in contributing to this development. This project has increased the credibility of dance within each school.
