Project Description

Kenilworth Cluster

The project aim was to impact on the teaching and learning of literacy and language by modelling and supporting creative practice, with particular reference to the use of found objects and recycled materials.

• The project really encouraged teachers to be free and show their abilities and interactions in a supportive environment.

• The children liked the opportunities to use such a lot of the resources made available to them.

• Observed use of imaginative language more often and in greater detail – it got the children talking more and working together.

• The children seemed to be using their imagination more and getting involved in creative storytelling.

• Access to The Cabin, CREATES and the follow-up session at The Hub made me think more about the creative activities at The Nursery.

• Sharing experience with other local teachers was fun and enjoyable, and has encouraged us to start up (or re-instate) an Early Years network.
