Current Project: Beingfrank Youth

Project Description
As a result of the success of their recent tour Beingfrank Youth (in partnership with WYAN and Warwickshire Youth and Community Service) will be running free workshops and performances at The Leamington Peace Festival, on Saturday 13th June at The Pump Room Gardens, Leamington Spa.
This will provide a unique opportunity for young people (mainly young men) to learn new skills and watch their breathtaking performance.
Beingfrank Youth consist of 4 young men aged 16 - 18 years who create energetic dance, through a fusion of contemporary dance, physical theatre, martial arts, street dance and parkour running styles and have been recongnised by Youth Dance UK.
Clare Mitchell WYAN coordinator said - "Our work with Beingfrank has proved that we can encourage boys and young men to get active through dance. Through their tour we have witnessed first hand how Beingfrank's style excites young men to make real changes in their lifestyles, for e.g. giving up smoking and committing to training programmes in a way that they have never done before. This work has been so eye opening it has left us wondering why we weren't all teaching dance to boys a long time ago...."
